I LOVE

I love myself for who I AM. I open my heart to give and receive love freely, while remaining deeply connected to myself. The love I cultivate for myself and others is compassionate, spacious, and unconditional.

The Heart Chakra, Anahata, is the center of love, compassion, relationship, balance, and connection. Situated between the lower and upper chakras, it forms a bridge between our embodied human experience and our capacity for greater awareness, meaning, and spiritual connection.

Here, we learn that love is not the loss of self within another. It is the capacity to remain present within ourselves while opening fully to relationship.

The Challenge | Grief

Grief is the primary challenge of the Heart Chakra.

To love is to become vulnerable to loss. Grief may arise through death, separation, disappointment, betrayal, unmet longing, or the many quieter losses that accompany a human life.

When grief cannot move, the heart may protect itself through withdrawal, numbness, resentment, isolation, or difficulty receiving love. We may give excessively while abandoning ourselves, or close the heart in an attempt to avoid being hurt again.

Healing Anahata does not require us to eliminate grief. It asks us to make room for it—to allow what has been loved and lost to move through the heart without closing our capacity to love.

Breathwork, compassionate witnessing, healthy relationships, grieving practices, forgiveness, self-compassion, receiving support, and learning to remain connected to ourselves within intimacy can all help restore the natural movement of the Heart Chakra.

At its deepest level, Anahata invites us to reclaim a fundamental right:

I have the right to love.
I have the right to be loved.
I have the right to give and receive love without abandoning myself.

Planetary Correspondence | Venus

Venus resonates with the Heart Chakra through its relationship with love, harmony, beauty, attraction, relationship, receptivity, and the recognition of what we value.

Love & Harmony
Venus represents the impulse toward connection and harmony. Its energy draws us toward beauty, affection, intimacy, and relationship—qualities that mirror Anahata's invitation to meet ourselves and others through the intelligence of the heart.

Relationship & Reciprocity
Venus teaches that relationship is an exchange. Healthy love contains both giving and receiving, closeness and spaciousness, tenderness and discernment. The Heart Chakra similarly asks us to discover how we can remain open to another without losing connection with ourselves.

The Bridge of the Heart
Anahata stands at the center of the seven-chakra system, joining the more embodied concerns of the lower chakras with the subtler awareness of the upper centers. Venus carries a similarly unifying quality: drawing separate elements toward relationship, coherence, beauty, and balance.

The Heart Chakra Teaching

I LOVE.

Love is not simply an emotion we feel toward another. It is a way of being in relationship with ourselves, with others, and with life.

The Fourth Chakra teaches us that an open heart is not an unprotected heart. We can love deeply while maintaining boundaries, grieve without losing our capacity for joy, and remain connected to ourselves while meeting another with tenderness and compassion.—to allow what has been loved and lost to move through the heart without closing our capacity to love.
